Quests
Subclass Quests
Ikora offers quests that will unlock the two Light subclasses that the player's class does not start with. Each quest also rewards a class-specific emblem. A quest can be acquired even if the player already has the relevant subclass unlocked.
- Gazing Into The Abyss – Unlocks Void subclasses for Titans and Hunters;
- Riding the Storm – Unlocks Arc subclasses for Hunters and Warlocks;
- Stoking The Flame – Unlocks Solar subclasses for Titans and Warlocks.
Subclass Mastery Quests
After unlocking all three Light subclasses for their character's class, the player can acquire three additional quests from Ikora. Partially completing a quest will reward an Exotic armor item that synergizes with the subclass, which must then be used to finish the quest. The final reward will be a curated roll of a specific Legendary weapon.
- Exalting the Flame – Rewards:
- Titan: Synthoceps (Exotic Gauntlets);
- Hunter: Young Ahamkara's Spine (Exotic Gauntlets);
- Warlock: Starfire Protocol (Exotic Chest Armor);
- Cry Mutiny (Legendary Grenade Launcher).
- Taming the Storm – Rewards:
- Titan: Dunemarchers (Exotic Leg Armor);
- Hunter: The Sixth Coyote (Exotic Chest Armor);
- Warlock: Crown of Tempests (Exotic Helmet);
- Combined Action (Legendary Hand Cannon).
- Into the Abyss – Rewards:
- Titan: Heart of Inmost Light (Exotic Chest Armor);
- Hunter: Graviton Forfeit (Exotic Helmet);
- Warlock: Contraverse Hold (Exotic Gauntlets);

Other Quests
- Timeline Reflection – Rewards the Monte Carlo Exotic Auto Rifle.
- Ares Desperado – Requires The Witch Queen Dungeon Key to access the Spire of the Watcher dungeon.
Grow Your Light
After the player unlocks a subclass, they can purchase upgrades and abilities for that subclass from Ikora using Glimmer. After purchasing items from Ikora, the player must meditate by interacting with the device on the shelf to the right in order to finish unlocking them.

Patch History
- 7.2.0.2[1]
- Fixed an issue where the vendor UI would display during conversations with Ikora.
- 7.2.0.1[2]
- Relive the past. Ikora offers a Timeline Reflections quest to help new and lapsed players get caught up on major story beats by replaying three key moments: Cayde’s Fate from Forsaken, Communing with Stasis from Beyond Light, and the Lucent Hive from The Witch Queen. Includes new cinematics and rewards for new players to quickly get up to speed before The Final Shape.
- Fixed an issue where some players were unable to purchase Void Fragments from Ikora until they had purchased at least two Void Aspects.
- Fixed an issue where Ikora was saying an incorrect line for purchasing a Fragment if a player hasn’t unlocked Aspects for that subclass.
- 5/26/23[3]
- Fixed an issue allowing players to acquire duplicate rewards from the Subclass Mastery quests.
- 7.1.0[4]
- UNLISTED: Three "Subclass Mastery"[3] quests (Exalting the Flame, Taming the Storm, and Into the Abyss) have been added to Ikora. They can be acquired after unlocking all three Light-based subclasses for a specific class.

- Subclasses you have not acquired are available after finishing the A Guardian Rises questline and talking with Ikora Rey during the A Spark of Hope quest.
- New Hunter characters will start with Solar subclass abilities intended to be more friendly and appealing to new players. Additional abilities may be unlocked by purchasing them from Ikora in the Tower and completing meditation
- 4.0.0.1[8]
- From her overlook in the Tower Bazaar, Ikora will now teach all classes the Void abilities, Aspects, and Fragments they have yet to unlock on their character.
- However, easily learning new Void abilities comes with a cost: each new ability learned requires large quantities of reprogrammable matter (Glimmer) and a nearby meditation device to expedite the process.
- Returning characters with a Void subclass will have the majority of their abilities unlocked upon character login.
- Grenades that were not accessible to a class prior to The Witch Queen launch will still need to be learned from Ikora.
- For new characters, Ikora will offer quests to earn their Solar and Arc subclasses once they have reached her step in the A Spark of Hope questline.
- From her overlook in the Tower Bazaar, Ikora will now teach all classes the Void abilities, Aspects, and Fragments they have yet to unlock on their character.
